7x09 on the scent
Are those hot wheels?
Joan is definitely not letting the Odin thing go – trying to warning her off without actually saying anything isn’t helping, Sherlock
Look at all those dogs! Cute, cute cute! Loud, but cute.
Though the body double isn’t great. It’s like a horror movie. (And then she dies)
Two different conversations are had. Sure the safe thing is pretty interesting. But I think Sherlock’s cover is blown re: Joan’s casefile
The Ghost of Brooklyn. What a name, It reminds me of the fact that it is a legal responsibility of realtors to divest the haunting status of buildings to potential buyers. But nope, serial killer
An unsolved case/cases which may finally be closed. Though the ghost of Michael is still hanging over them, or it is for me, at least. Serial killer suck.
I feel sorry for the father, having to go through that again, even if it has been some time.
It’s a case of ‘The Butler did it’, if only if it wasn’t for the DNA evidence
Those are some macabre drawings.
Fake fights? For publicity? Who would’ve thought? Anyway, this isn’t a Stuart and Semple conflict.
The art scene is small in some ways, a lot of people would know each other, and work together, unsurprising that they were friends.
Anyway, artist friend is super cooperative
The Ghost? Oh.
Oh gods, oh gods. I heard contamination and I just had a flash of fear so visceral I had to hide under a blanket and breathe. It’s a terrible thing, to have that throw off results, and lead to bad conclusions/inconclusive results which is bad for patients, and in this case, criminal investigators.
BUT good thing is – closed cases may now be possible, now that they’re known to be linked in a non-criminal manner
Dog bites hunting – do you need a warrant or anything to get that type of info from a hospital?
Neighbour dude has his own list of complaints about the deceased, especially that she was dealing drugs
Dog bite hunting is a huge canvas, and has them meet some interesting characters. (I’m talking about the older lady, yes)
One of the dog bite dudes is a petty thief – go eagle eyes?
Anywyas, yes drugs.
IDK is hiding majijuana in a copy of Leaves of Grass ironic? Or just stating the obvious?
And Joan can tell when Sherlock lies !!!!!
He’s being protective, but that’s not what she needs. Anyway she and he are now on the same page re: McNally
She’s a bit upset, but tabling it for later. Other lies to bust first.
Oh, Caroline Gibbs wasn’t seeing the neighbour, she was seeing the neighbour’s wife. Hence him being upset, upset. Especially about the dig for possibly cheating
Anyway, the wife said she saw her working, after she was dead *spooky noises* But you know, doppelganger
Wait, wait, this was all about a dog theft???
Ollie, Ollie, oxen free?
He’s an ex-police dog. Drug sniffer extraodinaire, for MJ
The one of us bit re: Ollie, brings back something said by Bree when she left.
https://caffeinated-and-confused.tumblr.com/post/186390178105
What about Ollie, he have any enemies?
….He’s a dog
Now there’s a new motive – revenge, even if it’s a bunch of stoners
Re: McNally’s role. Sherlock’s repairing bridges. That phone. ♥
“Cause I trust you. Then I want to show you that I’m worthy of your trust in return. I lied to you once about Odin. I won’t lie to you again.”
Guess it’s time to hit up the gang members, given the specific strain of it
Drug gang drug dog new litmus test for drug smuggling
But why need to steal the dog?
The scenes where they police force act, sometimes I need to take a second look or two at the dynamics. This is no different. (IDK, interrupting a phone conversation just seems like a rude things to do, but then again, how long do you want to wait.)
Gang boss – has his lawyer in a room in the OTB. Very close at hand. Pocket lawyer? Some other joke about being prepared for anything?
Anyway, lawyer lady is very scary and efficient at her work.
Gambling as a blind spot for Sherlock, huh. Though when did Joan take an interest? Or maybe it just comes with the territory of following some sports teams. And mafia families.
And the train they were discussing is still there! Though it shouldn’t have been. Thank you burglers
The MJ is gone! It’s a train job, except with more dog
IDK what happens to Ollie, will he get adopted by someone else? The cop he used to work with can’t
They have to go back and revise what they know to figure out the thief
I am getting distracted by Joan’s vest ensemble. I love it.
And uh, they’re back at petty thief-dog bite guy
Because of a book case
Anyway, lawyer lady is his sister.
Small world.
Also haha, she would never steal from the cartel… she’s not suicidal.
Good dog! So the MJ is definitely there.
Antonia’s the woman’s name. Thank you CC
Odin reviewing possible dangers like a day at the office, I wonder if those files are typed, or written given his own little habit of poking around in the net and people emails.
/screams
/screams more over them mentioning Joan
I hate that it is such a thing. That whole sword of Damocles feeling of threat and danger
Anyways, onto the next episode. Before I expire.
7x10 The Latest Model
Once I started noticing the puns, I can’t stop.
Directly following the previous episode, I don’t know what I’m expecting from Odin, other than a n x i e t y
And then, what is this running around in VR thing?
Joan! So excited for her turn to play a video game, for a certain value of game. She would definitely backseat play, at least until she could have her own go, as shown.
Ahyes, the dreaded BSOD. Save your docs everyone!
Lasdfjef HE KNOWS ABOUT THE SIS. He really did go networking didn’t he?
So the gesture last ep, while poignant, and important, is sort of useless.
Also – while many of them hold you in high esteem, they value my friendship more – which means something that makes knowing and associating with Riechenbach a detriment will in turn mean he loses that support. But only if it’s really huge.
Final call is a test case.
In which the dark sides of academia makes itself known. Plagerism is a huge issue. And can a possible mass shooting be averted?
Crime tours? Semi-historical murder tours? Sign me up! Except it’s supposed to be creepy, and happens at night. I am not a night owl. That reminds me of my mum, and how she can go… oh there was a huge fire there x years ago, they found a body there in a flowerbed, a celeb jumped off the penthouse floor of that hotel whenever we go to HK. Except they’re the same few stories over and over again.
(I knew I got my morbidness from somewhere. )
And there is a body! Not one anyone planned for either.
Putting together the facts is kinda damning for Conrad.
So we’re going to be cutting back and forth between the Conrad investigation, and the body in the courtyard, who may be linked to Autumn Clearly’s case (the original courtyard murder) all those years ago.
They’re definitely linked in some way, at least given the trace evidence that was picked up, the question is how.
Sherlock is actually going to talk to the guy? I’m interested in what angle he will use.
Autumn’s case – that was quick, given the copious amounts of info available. One small detail gives them the direction they need.
Conrad’s pissed.
Hampton, Autumn’s lover is dead already? Still, his wife is more than willing to agree that Hampton could’ve killed her. And likely did. Domestic violence is not great.
Oh, extra building just for extramarital affairs. How much money do these people have?
But carpet confirmed. Green is there, and also on both bodies.
It’s a good lead, and there they go
So the building borders the courtyard for the bodies, but isn’t linked in any easy to access way.
They have an ID! Kamille! Ex model now. Haha. The late model. Latest. GDI.
And 20+ people in the apartment? It’s pretty big, but how do you fit that many people… without getting into fights all the time?
Model apartments are a thing that exists – short term leases? I guess? They just need storage space, and somewhere to sleep, really. Work, work, work and sleep
Surprise! Sherlock
THERE’S AN ELEVATOR IN THE CLOSET?
SECRET PASSAGE SECRET PASSAGE SECRET PASSAGE, ALSO VERY VERY CREEPY
So, that’s a lot of people they’ll have to interview.
”We’re models. Everyone we meet is unsavory.”
There’s at least some info? Even if a lot of it doesn’t really go anywhere. Arguments on the phone.
“In my country, people kill for much less.” /ouch Some real hard truths there.
And the building owner shows up, with his lawyer.
Turns out, the owner had found her and moved her body! Because he has a lady’s underwear fetish and used it as an opportunity to steal things when models were supposed to be out.
Anyway, he has a solid alibi. And her phone!
Volodka is her last name. And they’re talking to some other lady who had just met her for the first time – drug counselling – worked with Kamille’s sister. Who is also dead. Regina OD’d earlier
Heroin. That drug’s a theme in this show. It comes up pretty much every season, as it does.
We haven’t seen Sherlock go to any meetings, not after the Michael arc. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t.
And speaking of Sherlock, what are you doing? He looks so lanky in that gas inspector’s suit, I don’t always realize how tall Johnny Miller is. Even with him standing next to Lucy Liu so often.
I can’t handle his voice.
Guns. Odin was onto something, but I too object to his one-solution methods.
Same killer for Regina and Kamille. Huh, did the coroner botch the autopsy for Regina?
Coroner, not M.E. Not that it means she doesn’t have any medical background. Though is appears that she didn’t do the best job, for sure. More likely had pre-drawn conclusions and didn’t bother to look for anything that didn’t scan.
A bad thing to happen, letting bias draw your conclusions.
At least she’s able to give a new lead. If nothing else. A PI hired by Kamille
Except the PI’s dead. Guess the killer found out and got there first.
That’s another solution. Find ways to defuse the problem of a potential killing by offering another choice, made much easier when you have those resources available to you.
Though yeah, if Odin can be so effective in identifying threats and neutralizing them, he also has the capabilities to monitor and access and reassess as need be. It’s not perfect, but the option is there.
Babysit. The way he says that word says a lot. None of it promising.
Perosnally, I think you need both options. Sometimes, a quick solution is better, but sometimes, the extra effort is worth it.
Back to Kamille, and now Regina – there’s a masked DJ involved, but sadly, no Daft Punk. Pandasalt is a cut moniker though
The weird wake up calls continue, EDM music playing from another room this time.
I’m not really into EDM.
So the mask is more of a hindrance than a help with the alibi
Though um
Baby?
What baby>
Why is there a baby now?
The DJ guy wants his kid back, if nothing else.
Social worker lady is being revisited, and asked some very pointed questions.
Oh no. Not the social worker lady.
That shot? That’s a very nice shot.

And now, impasse. They cannot work together, there’s no way they can work together.
For Odin Reichenbach to play god, he needs to have a 100% success rate. He needs to be judge, jury and executioner. People are really going to be a disappointment to him, no? Because there’s a thing called free will and choice. Killing a probably killer is a surefire way to make sure that crime isn’t commited, but that also eliminates the chance that they don’t commit the crime on their own volition.
(Conrad really didn’t like living at home, didn’t he?)
One man vs the court of law, who is right?
I was seriously too keyed up to sleep after this episode.
Anyway, we, as a species are capable of doing really wonderful things, as well as really terrible things.
Odin’s looking small scale, on the individuals, but what about corporations? Countries? If he’s trying to make the world a better place how much is he really helping? How about people who don’t trust the internet and refuse to leave an electronic trail for him to follow?
What happens when he learns about those cases? Things he couldn’t prevent? Will he let it go? Or will he go to further lengths to find and identify probably issues?
Why is this a Big Brother dystopian nightmare to be?
This is why (Spoilers for next ep) Morland Holmes makes a reappearance. (And what repercussions will there be re: Sherlock’s blackmail of that FBI agent?)
I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS AND SO LITTLE ANSWERS TO GIVE.
WHERE'S HIS CHECK AND BALANCE?
That out of the way, if they get in his way again, he'll swat them like an annoying fly.
no subject
Date: 2019-07-30 10:06 am (UTC)• and his solution of yes or no is very, very reminiscent of his work in the text industry and how machines make decisions.
• Cold hard logic is very tempting, in my younger years I would agree more with him, but that was before a lot of things happen and you get a wide background on the many, many factors that goes into humans making their own decisions
