This one is shorter than it could have been. Kind of rushed, given how late in the week it is, it's just two sleeps until Thursday!

Sherlock straight up blackmailing his way into staying in the USA
That guy is a rude little shit, and I think Lance Petra is a name made up for the episode? All I can say is art is definitely in the eye of the beholder. A giant metallic magenta dog statue is not my cup of tea.
The shadow of Sherlock’s father, and his presence is pretty heavy, since the storage units Krypsona’s manager called him because of that connection. And the blackmail he used was related to that.
Discretion. What a ‘beautiful’ word.
And now, we’ve got a body, and a staged murder.
The manager dude is super familiar, but I cannot place him.
Joan’s pants! I love them a lot.

Furniture! Signs of taking on a longer term of residence! Cases!
Security cam footage review has to be one of the worst parts of looking into things, especially on seven different screens
Coins, in a foreign trade zone …tax evasion
There were multiple break ins, in which nothing was stolen? And it’s happened perhaps multiple times. Huh.
Aw, date night with Chantel. Marcus is living a well-balanced life.
And he KNOWS
Sherlock’s face! At Marcus' demand for a hug. He is so confused.

I would gif this if I had the means of getting the video. Alas, you'll have to live with caps.
Also, is this the second person to get an onscreen hug with Sherlock? Or do I only remember Joan.
Dead guy, Virgil was the one turning off the cameras, and going through clients’ lockers to see what he could blackmail them for. Okay. I mean, that’s probably a smarter way of doing business than outright stealing.
Until someone tries to get payback.
And succeeds.
New captain is… abrupt. Dwyer is the kind of man who is rude masquerading as bluntness. Also reminds me of Lord Rust (a la Discworld) which is not a flattering comparison.
He wants spark notes for cases? He’s fine with things, as long as they do good work? Not his style, but Capt Gregson was okay with it, so he’ll let things go on? Uh. Not sure I want that person to be my boss.
So they have a reasonable suspect, but no direct access, though they can ask an art appraiser who had worked for Aura Swenson previously.
The appraiser reminds me of Kenneth Branagh (spelling? The guy who played Hamlet and Iago in those Shakespeare films we had to watch in high school English class)
So yes, Swenson does have dodgy religious artifacts and couldn’t get forged papers for them through the appraiser – except that she now is agreeable to have the police check out her unit.
Because lawyers. And a deal with a country that would make the artifacts now legal.
They want to authenticate, since she did push for forged papers before, with the art appraiser.
So there’s a possibility that the peace treaty that was now being broken is related to possible oil resources in a specific area of Ethiopia/Eritrea being contested? Can we just stop with the oil and associated resources.
Oooh, the appraiser might be involved more deeply than he wants known?
Um, YES. The appraiser acts like that’s totally unreasonable to suspect someone.
And Morland again! With a new piece to this political mess.
A discussion! About the future! They’re going to be frequent fliers between countries? I am kind of loving that.
That’s a good “I’ll see you in the morning.”
But who wants to be woken up like that?
Is the real life political situation like that depicted in the episode? I’m sort of afraid to look it up.
But true, there are two sides to the war in question, and it could benefit either side.
Is it just me, or is Sherlock just getting more ruthless. We know he’s capable of it – in M. And with that drug dealer who blamed him for his sister’s death. The tactics he’s using to stop his own arrest for his false confession.
It’s a bad plan to talk to an assassin and let him take potshots at you (and a potential leak) What’s to stop the guy from also shooting you, Sherlock?
His full name is Sebastian Florenti?
It’s all fake.
Given the way Sherlock had carried out that plan, he should have maybe have thought that it could potentially backfire in ways he never planned for.
People in power are rarely nice.
I do wonder, if I’m just noticing more now, because I do watch the eps multiple times, or if things are just escalating for the final final season. Makes you wonder.
Next ep is called Red Light, Green Light, and has both a coffin and clown in it? At least from these stills. With the presence of Captain Dwyer, it makes you wonder who it is. Not Gregson, right? He’s stable, but intubated.
Another officer?
Someone who will be a next step in the American home-grown terror cell plot?
Until next time.

Um, YES. The appraiser acts like that’s totally unreasonable to suspect someone.

That’s a good “I’ll see you in the morning.”

Though I miss the next week, because June is the month for plans, I guess.
