Disclaimer: I sort of know what’s going on with RE 1, given what’s been memed or seeped into pop culture. Typos will abound, and I likely won’t fix them. I don’t know if I’ll do the ‘ask questions about future events mere moments before they happen’ bit again, but it may.

Video 23 [10 minutes]
the whooshing noise of one particular set of doors is... fun? and makes me think of weird alarms going off
this starts off with a lot of back and forth, so I admittedly spaced out and had to go over parts of the video again a few times.
of course, what catches my attention first is the horrible red lighting that now perfuses the game area after the new place is unlocked.
what's that in the ceiling of the boiler room? and why does it look like a bug? or scyther, I guess. do hunters do the whole drop bear thing?
at least, my best guess is that it's a hunter, they do seem to swipe at jill a lot
power rerouted from the elevator
that ceiling swiper makes me wish you could crouch
oh shit, the one on the floor is following Jill! and it's still going while she has to access the panel to open up new areas... run Jill, run
anyway, out of the red zone, and we run into Barry again. (red vest)
who is being blackmailed into helping wesker, and umbrella
No Witnesses.
... except that Wesker is also planning a coup?
Why are you telling everyone all your plans? Stealing the research, sure. Taking over after the completion of a powerful bioweapon, sure. Somehow, I think several key things are missing. Like proper documentation about safe storage, handling and hmm... equipment.
I turned on auto-CC, and the results are hilarious. Wesker is now West Grove, Barry is Berry... well, you get the picture
Barry whacks Wesker a good one while his back is turned. At least he's following his morals, I guess.
"Do you think we could see Tyrant now?" Famous last words because now she and Barry are going after it.
Why do people think exposed blood vessels and organs are a good idea? How aware is the tyant of the conversaton going on outside its test tube, because if I overheard two people talk about killing me, I would be pissed.
Okay, so heart is exposed and gigantic, but also super large claw arm.
Stasis to consciousness in 0.5 seconds... cue boss battle, where Barry is taken out of the fight immediately by those nasty, nasty claws.
Good thing we get lots of room, and the monsters in this day and age are slow enough to run rings around
Plus the giant outside heart is a nice target.
Barry's alive! and is the most impervious to physical damage man we'll ever meet
they get out to 1) missing body, and 2) an alarm. Thanks Wesker.
I can hear it asks for an evacuation of all staff, and Wesker mentioned destroying the lab, but I can't make out if it's a self-destruct system or something else.
Gotta run, gotta dash, but Good News, no countdown timer anywhere.
I think it's good, at least.
And they run into a cell block, or Jill runs into a cell block to find Chris! I guess that's where he's been all this time, locked up. The sound proofing in that cell is top notch.
Chris runs ahead, and keeps tell Jill "let's go" Pls stop. we all know
Video 25 [10 minutes]
I think all your units are zombies, to be fair
Rendezvous with Barry, and they all try to get the hell out of here.
Apparently there's some kind of radio broadcast working? because someone is calling for signs of life. I can't recall who else there was
Oh no. The countdown timer has appeared.
"Give me a chance to play Nice Guy"? Why? though it's nice to not have to follow behind Chris, while he and Barry slow down whatever seems to be coming down the hall?
The battery lets you work the elevator up to the lift platform, I guess? And then a handy nearby flare summons the copter.
But sincethe helipad is built like a battle area, let's have the tyrant come back. through hte roof. because we can. It obviously figured out where people were thanks to the vibration of their footsteps, like a sandworm.
madder than ever! now with sprinting enabled.
that's not great, especially since the numbers just keep going down
he seems fleshier in this light. who did he eat to get all the skin? seriously, the blood vessels and gunk have all vanished
THanks for the rocket launcher! Jill can blow the tyrant to pieces now. Which is good. I don't want to know what would happen if it reached zero
and they're home free! Return of the live action sequences as they all get out of here.
ANyway, we've reached the end. For which everyone breaths a sigh of relief.
I KNOW WHAT THE SNAKE REMINDED ME OF NOW these dumb toys

The pacing of this game is rather off, to me. It feels like more happens in these last 30ish minutes of gameplay than the rest of the entire game altogether.
Of course, I'm biased, I've always had a preference towards story/lore. Give me pages of random history, an epic poem? A song, even? And I'll sit through it and read every word. Which weren't things that were missing here, though in much briefer form. That whole exchange between John and Ada. Or well, John to Ada... breaks your heart, doesn't it?
Mostly, the back and forth, and how enemies don't actually stay down is frustrating to see. It's not my kind of game.
Anyways, the biggest takeaway is that Umbrella is 1) basically big pharma, if big pharma decided to branch out into more lethal action, where licensing for level 3 and 4 pathogens isn't a thing, they have money to burn, and gosh, who wants to do proper science when you can have mad scientists.
